Brookdale Breastfeeds

Hospital Leaders, Elected Officials, Brookdale Employees, Community Organizations and Former patients stood together for Brookdale, for Breastfeeding, and for the health of East Brooklyn.

 

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from August 1st – 7th all over the globe to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world.

 

The theme for 2017 World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) was Sustaining Breastfeeding Together.  Brookdale Hospital’s Staff, Elected Officials, Community Organizations and former patients stood together with organizations around the globe including:  United National Children’s Fund (UNICEF); World Health Organization (WHO); International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN); LaLeche League International (LLLI); The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM); Wellstart International; the Global Goals; and, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) – to promote the role that breastfeeding plays in valuing our wellbeing and for the health of East Brooklyn.
