The Department of Family Medicine is staffed by Board-Certified Attending Physicians who have admitting privileges in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics and fully utilize all in-depth diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available to them at the hospital.
Family Practitioners work in close harmony with consultants in all branches of medicine and coordinate comprehensive medical care while maintaining their status as primary care physicians. Continuity of care is paramount at all times.
Several members of the department are Clinical Associate and Clinical Assistant Professor at Downstate Medical School, Health Sciences Center of Brooklyn – SUNY and have been listed in Castle Connolly Medical Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area 2001-2006.
Our physicians belong to professional societies including: The American Academy of Family Physicians, The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Some department members actively serve on the Board of Directors of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. |
