Hyperbaric Medicine:

A clear, acrylic chamber is saving the lives and limbs of those who receive this unique treatment. Through varying pressures of 100% pure oxygen, people have regained their ability to walk and live a healthy life. The treatment is called Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) therapy. Hyperbaric chambers are used as treatments for many different conditions such as: Carbon Monoxide poisoning, burns, smoke inhalation, wound treatment, diabetic skin infections, decompression sickness, traumatic injuries, and treatment of damaged tissue from radiation therapy.

The chamber allows patients to breathe in greater amounts of pure oxygen that is dissolved into the bloodstream and delivered to body tissues in amounts that promote healing. Among its benefits are greater blood vessel formation, enhanced wound healing, preservation of damaged tissue and elimination of toxic substances. The majority of patients feel no pain or discomfort from the therapy. In fact, patients may sleep, watch television or listen to the radio during treatment and patients soon are able to resume their normal daily activities.
