Pregnancy and Childbirth
Having a baby is an exciting time. At Brookdale, we want to make giving birth a healthy and enjoyable experience for you and your baby. We offer a wide range of childbirth services including prenatal, perinatal (high-risk pregnancy care), delivery and postpartum services. We also offer our patients to participate in a unique way of receiving their prenatal care called Centering Pregnancy. If you choose to participate in the Centering pregnancy prenatal program, you will go through your whole pregnancy care in a group of up to ten expecting mom just as you are. You will receive so much more attention and a provider time as a group and will also benefit from the mutual support of other moms. Our patients who completed their prenatal care in our Centering program report great experience and when time comes again, ultimately choosing Centering as their preferred way of prenatal care.
Breastfeeding offers a range of benefits for both mother and child. At Brookdale, we will support your breastfeeding decision and offer you the tools and knowledge you need. Our hospital maternity nursing staff members are specially trained to help new mothers with breastfeeding.
Brookdale Hospital Medical center is about to get a Baby-Friendly designation by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). We are in the last stretch of the designation process that takes four to five years to complete.
Certified lactation consultants are available and can help new mothers with breastfeeding challenges.
 Gynecological Services
The Department offers highly trained physicians in all areas of gynecology. We have specialists in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecological Oncology, Urogynecology, Dysplasia, and Reproductive Endocrinology.
We have surgeons that specialize in the areas of minimally invasive laparoscopic, robotic surgery (using the DaVinci S HD robot) and laser surgery.  Women who suffer from fibroid tumors can now choose a simpler and safer, non-surgical procedure without the physical and emotional techniques impact of a hysterectomy. The procedure called Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is now offered at Brookdale.
There are physicians on staff that are trained in pre- and post-menopause syndromes and osteoporosis with a state-of-the art bone densitometer.
Our mission is rooted in the need to provide culturally sensitive care to the residents of our communities.
