Rehabilitation Services

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is staffed by Board-Certified physicians.  The doctors provide consultative, therapeutic and specialized diagnostic services to patients.
Modern and comprehensive physical facility is located on the third floor in Comprehensive Health Center (main building) of the Hospital.  A full range of physical therapy services are available including hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercise machines, electrotherapy and many exercise regimes.
The Physiatrists provide inpatient and outpatient consultative services and treatment. We evaluate and treat people with conditions which interfere with their function and quality of life. We treat a wide array of conditions including, arthritis, stroke, musculoskeletal injuries, spine injuries, sports injuries, and cumulative trauma disorders.  We work with the therapists and other clinicians to maximize our patient’s ability to perform at their highest level. Our treatment plans include: medication and/or injections (if needed), education and therapy top help our patients meet their goals. We also provide electrodiagnostic testing.
Occupational therapy includes functional and kinetic therapy simulating a home environment as well as fabrication of splints and adaptive devices.
Physical therapy works with a wide variety of painful conditions and physical impairments, as well as patients recovering from recent surgeries. Our therapists, through our evaluations and consultations with you and your physicians, work towards returning you to previous (or hopefully, pain-free) functional activities. Therapy services are provided on an outpatient basis, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and inpatient basis from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on during the weekend for inpatient only.
The Speech and Language Department is another part of Rehabilitation Medicine, providing diagnostic and therapeutic services.
